Policies by Government to boost the EV Ecosystem in India

Recently BPCL tied up with Hero MotoCorp for EV ecosystem infrastructure. Government of India is trying to build policies to support the system. Policies like battery swapping, customer will get and option to not to own a battery, rather batteries can be swiped at charging stations. This move will give the huge boost by bringing down the up-front cost of the Electric vehicles and saving the time of users at the charging station.

The Ministry of Power has made guideline saying there should at-least be a EV Charging station on every 25 Km on both sides of the Highway. Govt of India is targeting 400000 (4Lakhs) EV charging stations by 2026, to meet the requirement of 2 Lakhs Electric Vehicles.

Like we have a Petrol Station for the refueling of Diesel and Petrol Cars, at a distance of around every 2-5 km. Same is the demand for EV charging stations, without this the dream of complete shift to EV is impossible.
